Falling for Fall

I think it's no secret to those of you that know me...But incase you are new here, allow me to enlighten you...

I love fall.

Yes. As soon as the melting Texas heat subsides and the cooler mornings roll in my heart just lights up with immense gratitude. Tis' that time of year again...Fall. Fall and I have had a loving relationship for years. The relationship really got serious when I started staying home with my babes a few years ago. I suddenly had the time to appreciate this season for all its many magical blessings. Not only the cooler temps, but what fall means to me is thankfulness.

Summer here in Texas is stinking HOT. Like humid and sweat through your bra everyday, hot. Yeah. You know what I mean. And unless I get to lounge by the pool most days, that kinda heat just doesn't sound like that much fun to me.  So after a few months of all that sweaty fun, when fall finally comes a knockin' I am elated. I immediately start stalking the stores magazines for fall decor ideas and fall recipes. Some of my favs are Rachel Ray's Everyday (She. Is. Awesome.). Or Food Network Magazine. And a really great one is All You (great money saving tips in that one).  Pinterest is another creative outlet that feeds my love for all things Fall. Pin after pin of Fall recipes, decorations, ideas, and motivations.

Something else magical that Fall brought me was my Levi. Right smack in the middle of Fall is when I  became a mother for the first time. My dear, sweet Levi was born in November. After that long hot summer of a pregnancy, I could not have been more thankful to welcome my baby boy. Fall and I have a track record, you see?

So now I am off to gather ingredients and recipes for a few of my favorite Fall dishes and new ones that I hope become our family Fall staples. I have been dreaming of butternut squashes and pumpkins. What, you don't dream about gourds?!

Here's to you starting your own whirlwind romance with Fall.

  1. Fall is my favorite time of the year. Love to watch the leaves changing colors and the cooler temps. One of my dreams is to take a road trip through Arkansas and up through the New England States during fall. Also stay in some really neat Bed and Breakfasts Inns. My grandparents did that in their retirement years and just love it. The pictures they took were so pretty. I can remember thinking when looking at the pictures and hearing about how beautiful it was, I am going to do that one day. I would love to see the tress in all their beauty. I most likely will not be able to do this dream. Mike and I will never be able to retire. Maybe we can do it in small vacations. A dream but never know what the Lord will provide. I will enjoy the Fall here where I live I can always look at pictures. Fall is great time of year.
